Fernando Laub (flaub) is a composer, performer and visual artist. In this site you can discover part of his musical and visual work. There is a netlabel from where you can hear several albums with avant-garde, experimental and sound art pieces.

In addition to his activity as a musician he produces and exhibits visual and installation works among the contemporary art circuit. His job as a visual artist includes a mixture between several techniques, from acrylic painting to photography, video and new technologies applied to visual arts.

In 2016 he was invited to perform at the New New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival , an event that took place on June in association with the NY Philharmonic Biennial.

During the same year, as an audiovisual producer, he shot an experimental documentary throughout the Mojave desert, the film was premiered in Germany and Czech Republic playing its soundtrack as a live performance. In 2017 he performed at the SEAMUS National Conference, the NWEAMO Festival and he was invited again to the NYCEMF.

 

His most recent activities as a performer includes a Europe tour were he played a sound art performance throughout the streets all over a month. The whole idea was to make a suite of spontaneous concerts interacting with current street sounds in cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin among other points of interest and events like the Beyond Festival at Netherlands . Giving a new meaning to the rumbling of trains and resonance of ancient cathedral bells becoming part of an unlikely show, the results were such unpredicted as mind-blowing.

 

As an experimental musician he use to design and create a set of own concept musical devices used to compose and perform his repertory. Since 2006 he spent three years living into an abandoned factory reconditioned as a laboratory, with the aim to compiling sonic substance, visual elements and to design new devices from old industrial machines and recycled scrap.

Besides those post-industrial quests he use to travel around the world documenting sonic and visual material. These elements are very present in his work either like a mean to drive inspiration or just like a quote. Combining that stuff with the research of innovative synthesis techniques, his music not only describes pictures, it will transport you to a sort of surreal and Sci-Fi scenarios plenty of oneiric and hallucinogenic images.

He spent an year working at LIPM (Production and Investigation Musical Laboratory at Buenos Aires). There he made a study about experimental instruments and produced many electroacoustic pieces. Since that time he began to work into the visual arts area: painting, digital art and multimedia. Sporadically he makes soundtracks and sound design for modern dance performances and films.

Called by the IMEB (Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique, Bourges France) to participate in the IMEB/BnF Collection Project to incorporate nine pieces to a collection shared between such institute and the National Library of France.

 

Head of Diente de SIerra. a record label aimed to release and spread new musical languages from avant-garde artists.

Founder of Delforus a edicated ensemble that plays live experimental music with the addition of visual content.

He was member at several rock and electronic bands being in charge of the production and playing electric bass and synthesizers: Erkslab, Leopardo, Intelectual Forma. With those projects he releases several EPs and LPs. In addition to the studio work, he played live at many local concerts and events like The World DJ Day, South American Music Conference, Club Land Pachá, El Dorado, Hotel Bauen, Bs As News, Hi Fi Club, La Cigale, Crimson Gallery among others.

As an electronic music producer he do regular releases with labels like Night-Drive-Music (Germany), DigitalTraffik (Italy), Research Music (USA), Movin Sounds (Spain), Procom (Argentine), with international distribution through Itunes, Beatport, Juno Records and others.

Since 1994 his work have received many mentions and prices at several national and international contests. His music also is programmed at numerous festivals and concerts around the globe.
